Every morning I when I wake up I go into the bathroom and go through my daily routine. While I am in there I probably catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror numerous times. When I see the reflection of myself I usually do not think anything of it, but there are times when I look at myself in the mirror and try and think of the qualities that make me, me. Of course I can see how my physical appearance differs from everyone else, but when I think about what makes my personality unique, a couple images come to mind.
One image that comes to mind is smoke detector. A smoke detector never draws a lot of attention unless it is doing what it has to do and I am the same way. I am not the type of person that will stand out in a crowd of people, I have a more laid-back outlook and just go with the flow the majority of the time, but when I detect smoke I will let my voice be heard.
The other object I can picture is a speedometer. A speedometer comes to mind because it is not always telling you the same thing. If you are driving and you hit your brakes the speedometer will change what it is saying, and I am the same way in that if I am talking about a certain topic and someone else holds a different view I will always listen to them with an open-mind, and if their view shows a valid point I am not to stubborn to change my view. These two objects are not the only two that describe me, but they symbolize two of my qualities that make me different then some other people.
Some of my hobbies include playing any kind of sport, I also love to follow sports, going out with friends, going home and spending time on the lake with friends from high school, and meeting new people.
I grew up, Okawville Illinois, a little farm town that is only known for a little old hotel. My favorite thing about growing up in a small town was everyone knew everyone, but the worst part about a small town is everyone knew everything about everyone. When I was a freshmen in high school I found out that my family was moving to Alabama. When I heard that I thought, "Alabama? What the heck is in Alabama?" but when I moved down here I made friends rather quickly and I love it now, and know I still keep in touch with my old friends from Illinois, so I guess it worked out pretty well for me.

Hey Danny...
Was Alabama a shock to you when you got here? Or is it similar to where you were from in Illinois? Illinois is a big state, so I know there are a lot of different parts. What makes the hotel famous, by the way?
