My name is Ashley Lauren Darnell and some people may mistake me as a drama queen but I have got news for you. It’s not me, it’s them. I have always lived an easy going, drama free life. That is until I relocated from Marietta, Georgia to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Let me tell you, this may sound like the next story line for Laguna Beach, but it’s not. The people, the locations, and the drama are actually real. My story begins exactly one month ago when I met my two best friends and pledge sisters on Bid Day. Meeting them was the beginning of my social life; little did I know it would also be the beginning of the most drama I’ve seen in eighteen years. The best part about my “triplets” is how different we are while also being so alike. Amanda is just like me only a better version. She is forgiving, understanding, and puts thought into all of her decisions, while I have a tendency to be stubborn and impulsive. By the way those happen to be two very dangerous things when mixed together, kind of like fire and gasoline. Katie on the other hand is the instigator to my forest fire of drama. She is a sophomore, the more responsible triplet but that has its downfalls. She also has a boyfriend named Andrew who happens to think that we are bad influences on Katie and her desires to go out with her girls. This leads me to the main exhibit of my drama filled life. Andrew has two roommates, so he came up with the brilliant plan that maybe he could set us all up. So then all of the best friends would be together, that way we wouldn’t want to go out and Katie would always be with him. Wrong! This caused major problems for two reasons. One, Amanda and I had no idea when we were going over to his house that we were being set up. Two, picture the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk and you’ve got the exact image of Dan. His other roommate looked like a gorgeous firefighter off of one of those calendars you find at a stand in the mall. Of course I would be the one to be set up, without me even knowing, with the jolly green giant. This did not go over well with me. I like to think of myself as a classy southern lady. I don’t want to be called an easy dz, yes I hear that about three times a day it’s not funny anymore, by someone who actually means it. Well this giant thinks that he is going to try and kiss me. For one, I don’t kiss on the first date, especially when it’s not even a date. Two, I try to hold myself back from kissing giants, not my thing. So when I turn my head he takes it to the extreme. About ten minutes later his phone rings and all of a sudden his friend has been in a terrible wreck and is dying. The next day I find out he can’t take rejection and went to a friends house. To this day whenever I see him I make sure to ask him how his dying friend is doing. I even took him flowers to give to his friend. One night spent at that house and I could never show my face there again. That’s what Andrew gets though, now we get our triplet and our fun. My advice to everyone don’t follow in Ashley Darnell’s footsteps. Wherever I go, drama will be right behind me.

Good grief! That does sound like an episode of Laguna Beach. Very entertaining.
