My Life (Melissa Lovell)

I am a freshman at the University of Alabama. I am not the skinniest person in the world but I am also not the fattest. I now have reddish-brown hair and I used to have dirty blonde hair. I am what I could consider short, 5’3”. I have an older sister. I was really shy in high school and had a hard time making friends. I have become a little more out-going since I got to college, but I still think that I am pretty shy. I do not like the way that I look and I am always comparing myself to others. I am not very funny. My friends think that I tell the worst stories ever. Now whenever one of us tells a bad story, they say that they have told a Melissa story. I love football and I am that girl that will be yelling right along with the boys. I am one of the few students at the University of Alabama that does not drink. I am a Christian. I try my best not to make fun of other people and I try my best not to gossip. I am a member of the sorority Delta Zeta. I have always had a problem with talking too much. I hate to exercise. I am not very good at school, I mean I try my hardest but there are just some things that I am just not good at. I want to be an accountant and eventually one day I would love to be the CFO of a major corporation and in turn be one of the richest women in the world.

I like that you included the "melissa story" showing you and your friends "inside" code. You were very critical of yourself and that can be good and bad thing. Overall good essay.

I know you're being completely serious in this piece but it makes for very wry humor. The sort of "self critical" stance always makes me laugh, and the "Melissa story" part was great. It seems to me that the people who say they're not funny always turn out to be some of the funniest people I know...I bet that's what you're like.
