Welcome to English 101. The purpose of this blog is to allow you to post your essays, which can, and will be read by the world at large. Don't be daunted by the idea that others will be able to read your writing. Writing is simply a form of communication--and we talk to each other all the time, every day. Formal composition has its own set of communication rules just like emailing, txting, letter-writing, etc. If you don't feel quite comfortable with the idea or rules of formal composition just yet, that's okay--hopefully it's a skill we will all hone and improve upon as the semester rolls on. Having access to a wider audience will allow your papers the proper space to live--rather than die in the bottom of a desk drawer, or be burned out in the backyard :) they can enter into discourse, which, after all, is the whole point. So...good luck!
Some rules: This blog is for you to post your papers and comment on other's work. This requires that you respect the space. Any content that is deemed inappropriate in any way (hateful, racist, sexist, harassing, etc) will be removed and I will submit your name and work to the proper authorities. This is not to say that I'm a censor--I just want to be clear that I do not tolerate any kind of hatefully motivated speech, nor do I tolerate willful ignorance.
